We woke up, exercised (kids too), packed up, and headed out of town, opting for a grocery store instead of the onsite English breakfast |
My trusty suitcase, which has accompanied me on many adventures |
The baker |
The general store |
The candle makers |
A horse-and-cart demo |
Sophie and Stone loved that horse |
Carnival rides from the year 1900 |
Best Daddy ever |
The locksmith shop |
The woodworkers made dishes and doors and mantels... and coffins |
The owner of the printing shop was a gray-haired Scotsman who teased us and made terrible (wonderful) jokes and puns as he showed us how to set type |
Our back garden |
It's soooooo hot and the sun still sets and rises so late and early that it's hard to sleep, but the kids are tired enough that it doesn't matter |
